Vertical-Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT)

VAWTs can also be easily mounted on building rooftops, where there is wind turbulence, which may increase their efficiency. Horizontal-Axis Wind Turbines (HAWT)

HAWTs are the most common types of wind turbines used today. The blades rotate around a horizontal axis that faces the wind direction to maximize efficiency. They are more efficient than VAWTs, and their scalable design makes them ideal for industrial and large-scale wind energy production plants.

However, HAWTs have some disadvantages, such as noise pollution, low adaptability to urban areas, and needing clean and consistent wind directions to work effectively.

In conclusion, both VAWTs and HAWTs have their advantages and disadvantages, and the choice between them should be based on specific project requirements. Thus, knowing the site-specific conditions, such as wind direction and turbine size, is crucial in determining which turbine to choose.
